New Word (s) ***He/She/Him/Her***

Today is the 15th and time for a new word. Actually this time around we have a selection of words to choose from.  Our new word for this month and the next challenge release is HE | SHE | HIM | HER.  These words may be used in any combination. Use them all or use only one. Also, our DT member Heather has created a beautiful sketch below.  Many of our other DT members have used this sketch for their layout as you will see below.  It is for inspiration only so interpret it as you wish!

Truly, I find it hard to believe it has been one month since our last word, MOMENT was released.  Speaking of the word MOMENT, there was a great number of entries and beautiful pieces linked up for this last challenge.  Thank you to everyone who played along.  I felt that it was a great turnout for our first challenge since the break.  Our DT will be voting and challenge winners will be announced on the last day of May.

One More Day

Back To Work For Me

Hi! I was stopping in to take a look at the challenge entries! I love the variety. We have a few new members to the blog as well that I would like to welcome.  Also, just a quick reminder to give a little shout out to BITW when you link up your layouts on your blog and on our site.  Thank you for that!  It helps spread the word. :)

It's kind of a sad day to me as it is my last day of maternity leave. I go back to work full time tomorrow. I do like my job, but i will miss my babies tremendously. Morgan is growing so fast and is starting to smile so much and Tristan is learning to say so many words. He is such a cuddly and curious little boy. Lately he needs either my husband or I in his room to fall asleep at nap time or bed time, so we hang out on the floor while he is in his crib going to sleep. While we both know it is a bad habit, I think we enjoy the quiet time with him. He sticks his little hand out to hang on to ours until he falls asleep. It gets my heart every time.

I knew the day was coming and that i had to go back to work eventually, but it does not make it easier. Eleven weeks home just isn't enough. :(

New Challenge Word **MOMENT**

Bird is the Word is back and I am excited!!

Our first reveal is scheduled for today....and our new word is MOMENT!

The current design team did an outstanding job with their layouts for this word ---- see them below.  

Speaking of design team, we will be having a design team call very soon, I just have to put the details together.  Hopefully within the next week or two.  

So, what I do know is that our design team will be voting on five featured layouts and the first two layouts with the most votes will be receiving a prize package.  We will also be asking all five featured winners to guest design for Bird is the Word if they would like to.  Our unique featured winner badge will also be back!

For this challenge we have prizes donated from Julia Cotrim and Heather Waldron.

and this is a little bit about her company:

Julia Cotrim was born in 2003 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Their handmade patterned papers and canvases are unique and very special.

The patterned papers are texturized and printed on a very thick cardstock and coordinate with the patterned canvases.

They also produce chipboard, stamps, wood embellishments and hand made flowers. 

----and our new sketch designer, Heather Waldron also donated a prize of her beautiful handmade flowers!

Now on to our design team creations for this month! I was hoping to display them in large size, but something is off with the margins of the blog design. Hopefully I can have that fixed soon.

New Sketch Artist on Board

The design team pages are coming in and they are beautiful.  I am so excited to share them with you on Monday.  We have a new sketch artist too!!  Heather from Scrappy Sketches is going to be designing our sketches....she has already prepared the first one and I found it inspiring!

Any Sketch Artists??? We Need You!!!

We have a Facebook page now too.  It is not completely finished yet, but if you want to follow us, click the little blue FB circle off to the right.  We will announce new words and winners on our Facebook page as well as on the blog going forward.

Our first word will be released on April 15th! Going forward there will only be one word released per month. It will be much easier for me to keep up with and hopefully for all of our followers and design team members as well.  We will be voting and keeping the featured winners going as well as asking all featured winners to guest design for the next month.  I love guest designers!!  I think they add so much to challenge blogs.

Oh and guess what...we are having a design team call.  That will be announced soon!!  Today however I am looking for a sketch artist...........anyone willing to try her hand at creating sketches for BITW?  If so, please email me at birdteam2011@yahoo.com with a couple of your sketches attached!!

Thank You for the Love and Support

Wow, thank you to all of you for your kind words and support in regards to my little Morgan.  I felt so warm and happy reading all of the comments from around the world.  It is so great to know there really are kind people everywhere.  It  is also helpful to know that there are many of you who have survived two children under two.  I think one day at a time is great advice!  As many of you mentioned --  do not be above the TV and easy dinners for awhile!

Anyway, I am excited to get the blog going strong again. I will be having a design team call soon and I also will be welcoming back a few previous DT members!

Now I need to start thinking of some words.  If there are any you would like to use, please comment below.

In addition, I am thinking about introducing a new word the first Monday of every month.  So, in hopes to keep things manageable time wise for all of us, there would be one word per month instead of two.  I am still trying to think of a few new ways to keep the blog entertaining all month long though. Any ideas?  My ears are open.  I love feedback.
